Things are moving.
We got our official dossier paper works yesterday, and they needed to be filled out an notarized. Andrew filled them all out, then told me that as a AAA member, we get 10 free notaries per day at their office.
"Let's go now," so we loaded the car.
We sat there for 2.5 hours as the poor woman notarized all our paperwork. We had 15 sheets, but she counted us both as members, so it worked out. Then, a problem arose, but we called SACRAMENTO, and put some lady on the phone with our other set of paper and then it all cleared up....does that make any sense, nope? Ok, can you tell Andrew is the one organizing this stuff? Haha.
Today, we mailed off our USCIS paperwork with $890 in it (Luau money! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CAME!), then mailed ANOTHER big packet today as well in an overnight envelope.
My husband is amazing, he is so driven, and organized, and smart and thorough.
The tentative travel date for our first trip is mid June. Please pray that all paperwork finds its way to the right hands, and that Maya's heart will be prepared to meet her mama and papa, then to say good bye for 2 months before we come back for court. How confusing that must be.
Please pray for our hearts as we visit the orphanage. Children living in institutions without families doesn't sit well with us and it's hard on our hearts. Please pray for God's guidance and boldness.
Well, good bye for now. I just wanted to update anyone following along in our adoption process. I think I am "nesting." I cleaned out Andrew's ENTIRE office, and organized it perfectly. Next step: the garage.
2 more weeks of school, then I am done. PRAISE GOD!
Here's a little cuteness for you:
